Security Door and Lockpick
From CT Design Wiki
These are the first lines of security product produced by CTD. These items are designed specifically for the RP world. Bringing realism and real-time interaction with items.
CTD Security Door
The CTD Security Door has several features stand alone in the scripting itself. The owner of the door has full control over the door with the ability to add or remove users as they need. They can either add the names to the provided notecard, full first and last on each line, and the door will compile the names from this list. As well as being to add someone just by having them stand next to the door.
When someone is added they will have access to open and close the door, as well as locking and unlocking the door. If someone does not have access to the door they will recieve a menu asking what they would like to do. They can Knock On the door which will notify anyone with 10m of the door that someone is knocking. They can Pound On the door which will show that they are pounding on it, and in doing so, notify anyone within 30m that someone is pounding on the door. Or they can Tap On the door, which will notify anyone with 3m of the door that they hear a tapping noise.
Along with all of these options there is also another option to Pick Lock. The person that selects this option must have a CTD Lockpick attached to even attempt this. If a CTD Lockpick is attached then the person will attempt to pick the lock to unlock the door. If successful the door will be unlocked and anyone would then be able to open or close the door until is has been locked again by a user that has access to do so.
CTD Lockpick
The CTD Lockpick was designed to work specifically with the CTD Security Door. The lockpick must be attach (or Worn) on the right hand for it to work properly. If this is not done, upon attaching it the lockpick will notify the user that they are using it on the wrong attachment point.
To actually use the CTD Lockpick the user much be close to a CTD Security Door and choose the Pick Lock option on the menu of the door. At this time the user will start to pick the lock. An animation will play showing the user is attempting to pick the door. Internally within the Lockpick it will test your skill and make a legal "roll" to see if you successfully picked the door lock.
The lockpick has been tested personally by Cryas Tokhes in over 1000 different scenarios to make sure that the lockpick work work accordingly as scripting. There are default values that all lockpicks start off with and the skill level and breakage possibilities will increase with each use.
By default the lockpick has a 15% success rate, upon a successful picking of a lock that success rate will increase by 1%. Keep in mind though that this lockpick is meant to be as fair as possible, so there is also a chance that it can break, whether it is from its 1st use to its 253nd (Yes, I tried it that many times). The breakage percentile that the lockpick starts at is 2.5%. This breakage percentile will increase by 0.05% with each usage. Consider this to be wear down of the pick itself. So the more times that you use this pick your chances of breaking it become greater.
The lockpick will be able to be used until it is broken, the only change will be the breakage chance and the success chance. A lockpick will be able to increase its success chance to a maximum of 95%. This will still leave the lockpick as having the potential of failing the picking process. Since it is only fair to say that even the best lockpickers can mess up.
